Living in Tornado Alley can be a little crazy at times. I was driving home from college yesterday, and as soon as I left, my roommate texted me to let me know we were under a tornado watch. Neat. So I called Mom to see how the weather was looking, and what did she tell me? "I just saw a tornado!"
Yikes!
Apparently while she was at work, a tornado touched down pretty darn close to where they were. I don't think any significant damage was done, but wow! What an experience!
The Fox 4 news team even came out to interview them. And of course I have the video of that! :-)
The beginning of the video shows the tornado in question, and about 50 seconds in is when the interview starts.
(My Mom's the lovely lady in purple, closest to the news guy. She doesn't actually talk, but she looks cute!)
Those are my girls at Claire Lynn! I'm glad they're all safe and sound.

Glad no one got hurt...funny how a tornado can be both awesome to see,but totally frightening all rolled into one!
She IS adorable! Wonder if my mother got to play with that one any as well... Seems I leave Texas for a week and all the fun weather comes out to celebrate my departure. Glad to know it wasn't significant enough a storm to cause any serious damage.
-Heather-
you are right your mum is really cute...
good to know all is well..

I want to be caught in a crazy weather storm, it's always been my dream. seriously
Scary stuff!! We don't get tornados in England, so I can't imagine how frightening it can be!
Hello Mommy
I must agree emphatically...not only is she cute, but she also looks really young. I hope I look that good when my kids are in college.
I didn't know you were from the Alley too?! :)
@Matt—Indeed! :-D
@Heather—Woman! I’m so happy you stopped by and commented! I miss your face! How was your trip??
@The Word Whisperer—Me too! Yes, it’s pretty crazy that one thing could be awesome and scary! But a tornado is certainly both. :-) Thanks for the comment!
@APARNA—Thank you!
@chelsea anne—I know, right?! When Mom told me she saw a tornado, I was glad she was safe, but also totally jealous that she saw one and I didn’t! Haha :-)
@Amy Florence—It’s pretty scary, especially since tornados can be pretty unpredictable! But they’re also pretty darn cool to look at. Unless they cause a lot of damage. Then that makes me sad! Thanks for dropping by!
@Trish—Doesn’t she?! My Mom is a total gem. :-)
@Ben Burleigh—Yes! I sure am! I take it you are, too?? :-D
good to know all is well..
Wow, that's intense! Glad to hear that your loved ones are safe and sound. :)
We don't get many tornadoes here in Ontario (not that I'm complaining!) - I think the last one was in 1995. I remember being in a movie theatre watching Mr. Holland's Opus at the time, and hearing a wild storm outside. The storm had ended by the time we left the theatre, but I recall being shocked to see many houses without roofs only a few kilometers away while driving home.
@game—Thanks, I think so, too!
@Matty—Wow! That would be pretty crazy, to just see a bunch of houses with no roofs! It’s always a little unsettling to be seeing a movie and hear a big storm outside. It always makes me nervous because you can’t see just how bad it is until you leave! Thanks for dropping by and commenting. :-)
Wow, Tornadoes!? Wouldn't have a clue as to what to do! So glad to hear everyone is well and not hurt! :) Good story!
tornados are definatly terrifying. I've never experienced one, and I really don't want to! :)
Enjoyed the video...you're right, your mom is cute...pretty smile.
Pretty scary stuff. A couple years ago, my family and I spotted a funnel in SALEM, OREGON!!! I was able to get a picture of it on my cell phone...we were so shocked! Thankfully, it never touched down.
I'm glad you and your family are safe...God Bless!
When I was a little girl my dad was stationed in Oklahoma somewhere and there was a tornado and we had to hang out on the basement for a while.
It scared the crap out of me and I still have bad dreams about tornados!
Scary stuff!!

Adorei o layout do seu blog!
Um abraço do Brasil.
Wow! I live in New Brunswick, Canada and the idea of tornadoes, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc are all so alien to me. We get windstorms and crazy snow storms but nothing like that!

Cute Mom! :)
Wow, I've never seen a Tornado in Italy
@vicenzagurl—Even though they’re not new to me, I’d probably still not know what to do. Ha! Thanks for the comment!
@Jacklyn Darcel—Yes! They’re also pretty awe inspiring. I’d like to experience one, but only if no one gets hurt. And since there’s no guarantee about that, I’d just as soon not have to mess with one! :-)
@slimdewitt—Wow! Pretty cool you got a picture of it! Thanks for dropping by. :-)
@Alexis—I remember having to take cover in a bathtub once during a tornado warning. It was very scary! I was pretty young, and I was upset because not all of my stuffed toys would fit in the tub with us. ;-)
@maaaaaed—Thanks for the happy birthday wish. :-) Good luck on your blog when you start it!
@Angelo—I’m pretty sure you’re saying you like the layout of my blog! If so, thanks! ^_^
@shan—Snowstorms seem crazy to me! Haha! For us Texans, just some sleet usually calls for a snow day. ;-)
@LadyLindy—Thanks!
